Supporting Families of Children with Acquired and Congenital Heart Disease

Text Box: DAY FOR HEARTS A Day for Hearts is a grass roots initiative to have February 14th of every year proclaimed A Day For Hearts - Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Day.   This is not only a local campaign, but a world-wide effort.  The CHS has been successful for the past several years in obtaining a city of Edmonton proclamation, but we still have the goal of one day seeing February 14th proclaimed nationally.  Congenital Heart Defects are the most frequently occurring birth defect and can effect any family, from any walk of life.  The cause is for the most part unknown, but thankfully the treatments for the many types of CHDs has improved greatly in recent years.    For more information, and to receive literature and materials that will help spread awareness of the need for A Day For Hearts, please contact the CHS office.  Please check out our Events Page to see activities planned for this year's Day For Hearts.

 

 

Text Box: Text Box: Text Box: AWARENESS DISPLAYS We've had several displays so far in 2007 at the University of Alberta Hospital.  We are planning to have more before the year is over.  Look for us at the Storyland Valley Zoo and the Millwoods Golf Course in September!! Our wonderful interactive display is currently set up in the CHS office.  Please, come and check it out.  We also have a great selection of awareness materials as well as CHS promotional give a ways. We would love to start having presentations at schools, places of work, and other public venues.  Please contact the office if you would like to book a date.
